My Project
Students like to learn to understand themselves and each other. By journal writing in their Social-Emotional Journals, students express day-to-day achievements, observations, joys, disappointments, worries, problems, problem-solving, etc.-- and their work wins recognition from classmates, teachers, and their families.
A child as young as three can draw a picture of red crayon scribble-scrabble and write or ask an adult to write: "I'm mad!"
Many times, children, especially children with special needs such as being on the autism spectrum or experiencing processing delays or having a lack of memory skills, are given the idea that their behavior is annoying, frustrating, bad, wrong, or unacceptable--but The Spot-On Feelings book and mini- plush toys encourage young students and their friends and families to accept the entire spectrum of feelings: anger, joy, jealousy, revenge, you-name-it, as normal and natural for all people.
