This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our primary goal for our preschool classrooms is to lay a well-rounded foundation so our students can become successful and productive members of society. Students today will be the leaders of tomorrow; thus, we owe it to them and ourselves to provide everything they need to become anything they aspire to be. This school year will be particularly hard for preschool, l as we open this school year with remote learning with three-year-olds who have never been to school before, we need to provide them with activities that will keep them engaged.
To be successful in our class, students work to develop the skills to build friendships, become engaged in activities, learn classroom routines, and celebrate even the most minor achievements.
We have two, energetic, half-day preschool classes: 20 AM, and 20 PM students. Each session has 6 diverse learners and 14 general education students.
My Project
Everything I am requesting is essential for my students to have all the tools they need to conquer remote learning. It's hard for little ones to learn watching a teacher lecture on a screen, they need materials to participate in interactive lessons while having fun.
My students have never been to school before, these backpacks and materials will help them differentiate their leisure time from instructional time.
With your help, something as simple as a backpack can support a healthy and rich learning environment at home without putting parents in a financial strain.
