iLove Reading! With an iPad.

My students need an iPad to help them with their reading skills. This iPad would allow them to access technology, that would greatly improve their reading and writing skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When my students walk in the room in the morning, their smiling faces let me know they are ready and excited to learn! In my classroom, I have a diverse group of learners. About half of my students, are students with special needs. Most of these children with special needs, are also English Language Learners. Being the special education teacher in the room, I know that there are so many ways technology can help them. Unfortunately, most of these children do not have access to technology because they come from low-income homes. Most, if not all, of the students in my school receive free lunch, so that they are fed.

My Project

My students are enthusiastic learners, however, most of them are special education students and are English Language Learners. This makes reading extremely difficult for them.

As their special education teacher, I want them to soar!

I feel that an iPad would be a big help in our classroom! I would use the iPad to play literacy games, and to use literacy applications that would make reading fun! When students are having fun, they are more likely to learn, and they are more likely to retain the information.

Reading is a big struggle for them, I want this iPad to help make reading fun and more enjoyable for all the students in my room.
