My Students
My students enjoy using the latest technology to practice essential math and reading skills. My students need to practice new skills in an interactive and engaging way to help them master basic skills and move to the next level.
The students in our classroom come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
The students love learning together and need the opportunity to share skills. The students are a diverse learning community that works together in an inclusive education environment. Inclusive education means that children who reflect the demographics of the surrounding region, including children who develop typically, children with special needs and children who are gifted, learn side by side. My school's model allows for the individual needs of each child to be addressed in a manner that enhances each child's strengths while also addressing learning needs. My students have so many great ideas and they love working together as a community. They are excited and inspired to achieve their potential when they can practice skills in new ways.
My Project
A classroom iPad will change my student's lives by allowing them to learn in an exciting and fun way. Students can get bored when using traditional worksheets to practice essential math and reading skills. When you incorporate technology in your lessons, students can't wait to practice the same skills they would practice using traditional worksheets. There are fabulous iPad apps available to keep students interested and engaged while they feel they are playing games. In reality they are practicing the necessary reading and math skills they need to succeed in both school and life. The iPad can be used for whole group lessons, small group centers and also for individuals to receive additional instruction or practice in basic skills or enrichment.

With school budget cuts continuing to be a problem, I will continue to advocate on behalf of my students to provide them every opportunity to be successful in their education. A classroom iPad will continue to move students toward their academic goals as they continue to be excited about learning.
