I want my students to be excited to come to school every day. If you were to take a tour around my classroom, you would see a classroom that screams, "Learning is fun and exciting!"
I have a wonderful group of first and second graders.
When they see an opportunity to help someone in need, they jump right on with no questions asked. As we transition to an e-STEM school, I want to students to have the opportunity to engage in technology to enhance their learning. They get excited about technology and want to use it more in their everyday learning.
My Project
The iPad with case will be used to enhance math and science lessons. We have 3 science kits in first grade: weather, balls & ramps, and organisms. Students will also use it during science for research, for example, during our weather kit; students will get a chance to use the weather app on the iPad. The apps. will understand the impact weather has, understand weather patterns around the world, and use apps related to weather. We will also use the iPad during our organisms science kit. Students will understand the needs of animals and their habitat by conducting research projects on the iPad during small group time. In math, we will use the iPad to reinforce mathematical skills/concepts. There are various great math apps for us to download to reinforce skills. We also have a math program at our school that we can access on the iPad. The iPad will allow students to learn math in a hands-on and engaging way. Students will be using the iPad daily during math, science, writing, and reading.
Donations to the project will help my current and future students.
With these iPad, students will be engaged and eager to learn math and science concepts! It will provide students opportunities who may not have any technology at home.
