Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how excited you were to go to computer class? Do you remember the thrill you felt knowing that everything was a click away? Unfortunately my students do not have that experience. We do not receive computer class, yet, my students are drawn to the world of technology.
My students has a range of disabilities.
I teach a self-contained special education class in a high poverty school. Many families are financially challenged. When I brought my iPad into the classroom the students were shocked to see something they had heard of but never seen before let alone use. The moment we started using the iPad during instruction the kids were more engaged and wanted to learn more about the iPad and what they could learn from it. They would be extremely excited to have "student" iPads to use in the classroom.
My Project
An iPad provides hands on learning experiences through the many applications available. I have many different levels of learning disabilities fro low to high that need to be addressed through differentiated learning to help all of my students become successful learners. The use of an iPad will allow learning to be more interactive, fun, and engaging for all my students. Having and using an IPad will change the lives of my students immensely.
This project will broaden learning opportunities within the classroom.
We are working towards a 1:1 iPad program.
We are a long way from having a 1:1 student to iPad ratio in the classroom but with your help my students can have more frequent access. Please help us lower our student to iPad ratio.
