This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will introduce 25 second-grade students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) through an engaging, hands-on model rocketry experience. Students will learn about the history of space travel and Newton's Laws of Motion through engaging discussions and videos.

Early Exposure to STEM concepts is critical in fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for science and engineering.

However, many elementary students have limited opportunities for hands-on learning experiences that bring these subjects to life. By integrating these Rockets into our curriculum, we will provide an engaging, memorable learning experiences that aligns with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for second grade, particularly in physical science and engineering design.

Through building and launching their own Rockets, they will develop critical thinking skills, teamwork, and a lasting curiosity for science and engineering.
