Igniting the Classroom Experience through Ron Clark Academy
I need to attend a 2-day professional development at Ron Clark Academy in order to bring innovative and engaging strategies to enhance my students' learning experience.
I teach math and high high school Algebra I top multi-age students at an alternative school in Louisiana. Many of our students are low performing and we strive to decrease the gap between where they are and where they need to be. My students learn best when they are fully engaged through innovation in math stations and real-world application problem solving projects.
My students enjoy and benefit from constantly moving around doing real-life application problem solving activities that help them better understand the skills being learned in class.
My students look forward to innovative activities in the classroom daily which takes a step outside of our traditional learning. I love creating activities and implementing strategies that that demonstrate a high-level of understanding from a skill learned in class by my students.
My Project
It has been a bucket list goal in my educational career to attend the Ron Clark Academy Experience to provide unimaginable lessons for my students in the classroom. I have attended many cooperative learning workshops in the past and I strive to constantly grow in this area. The Ron Clark Academy located in Atlanta, Georgia provides educators to learn from their awesome and innovative teachers.
I would be so thankful for the opportunity to attend the workshop in order to learn new non-traditional strategies to engage my students in their daily learning experience to continuously ignite their desire for learning.
If I am able to attend this workshop, it will be an experience that will help provide one of the best learning experiences to my students for years to come. As I previously stated, I attend cooperative learning workshops to better enhance my career for my students. Attending this workshop will also allow my students to see that I am a continuous learner just as they are and am interested in bettering myself to in turn help be a better asset to them as their teacher.
