This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I've been teaching kindergarten in a low income environment for 18 years where students must overcome many obstacles both in and out of the classroom. Every year I look forward to forming special relationships with my new friends and giving them meaningful experiences.
My students come to me from many different backgrounds and abilities which makes it challenging to meet all their needs.
Watching my students succeed and become confident learners inspires me to find more ways to support them.
My Project
The teacher has always been a child's number one resource. In the past, teachers brought to the classroom the limited experiences and opportunities afforded to them. However, the world is changing and it is imperative that teachers go above and beyond the classroom walls to address each child's special potential and assist them in claiming their success.
Having five iPads in our classroom will allow my students to explore new learning pathways and transform their creative abilities.
My students will have opportunities to communicate and collaborate with other learners outside of their community. This will open their minds to the new world of education.
