Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At WVMS, we are dedicated to providing students with hands-on, engaging STEM experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills. This year, we are launching a drone elective, where students will explore the exciting world of aerial robotics, physics, and engineering through interactive learning and competitions.
Through this project, I am requesting 12 Contixo F19 Brushless Motor GPS Drones.
This professional-grade drone will give my middle school students authentic, hands-on experience with advanced drone technology. It offers GPS navigation, stable flight capabilities, and real-world flight planning — essential skills for STEM careers of the future.
Why This Matters:
In today’s rapidly changing world, drones are used in industries ranging from agriculture to filmmaking to emergency response. Early exposure to this technology helps students develop critical 21st-century skills like problem-solving, spatial reasoning, digital literacy, and teamwork. Plus, it boosts confidence, creativity, and career curiosity!
How the Drones Will Be Used:
Students will learn the principles of aerodynamics and GPS navigation.
They will plan and execute flight missions, simulating real-world applications.
The class will analyze flight data to improve their designs and strategies.
Students will also explore career pathways in STEM fields linked to drone use.
Our Goal:
By incorporating high-quality equipment like the Contixo F19 drone, we can provide a truly engaging, career-connected learning experience. Students will not just read about innovation — they’ll live it.
