My Project
This Donor's Choose project aims to transform a traditional 10th-grade English classroom at Miami's Design and Architecture Senior High School (DASH) into a dynamic and innovative learning space. Currently, the classroom, housed in the school's original building, is furnished with outdated and uncomfortable furniture that hinders collaboration and limits opportunities for innovative teaching. The students, gifted and talented learners in an art magnet program, deserve a learning environment that reflects their potential.
This project proposes to replace the existing outdated traditional desks and seating with flexible, modern options that will directly address the limitations of the current classroom setup by providing flexible seating options, a dedicated collaborative workspace for small group instruction, and modern individual desks.
These improvements will lead to increased student engagement, enhanced collaboration, improved focus and creativity, and a deeper understanding of literature.
Ultimately, this transformation will cultivate essential 21st-century skills, such as communication, critical thinking, and creativity, preparing students for success in college and beyond. The requested funding will cover the cost of the new furniture, creating a more welcoming and inspiring space that empowers these exceptional students to reach their full potential.
