This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Ignite Innovation: STEM Materials for Creative Minds" is a classroom initiative designed to provide students with hands-on, high-quality STEM materials that foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. This grant will allow us to purchase kits, tools, and resources that support project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — preparing students to think like real-world innovators.

By equipping our classroom with STEM materials, we will be able to cultivate a learning environment where students explore, experiment, and discover through trial and error — just like scientists and engineers in the real world.

Goal:

To empower students to become innovative thinkers through hands-on STEM activities that support 21st-century skills.

-Enhance student engagement in STEM subjects through interactive learning.

-Provide opportunities for collaboration, design thinking, and real-world problem-solving.

-Foster perseverance, curiosity, and innovation among all students.

-Increase interest and confidence in STEM careers and higher education pathways.

Once funded, the materials will be used in a variety of structured and open-ended STEM activities across the school year. These may include building challenges, coding games, simple robotics, science experiments, and engineering design tasks. Lessons will align with state and national standards, and students will work individually and in teams to explore scientific concepts and solve real-world problems.

We will also integrate STEM into cross-curricular projects, allowing students to apply math and science skills in new and creative ways.

My students are deserving of this grant because they come to school each day with a genuine desire to learn, explore, and grow — even when resources are limited. They are imaginative, determined, and full of potential. Many face challenges outside the classroom that they cannot control, yet within our classroom walls, they show resilience, creativity, and a hunger for hands-on learning experiences.
