My Project

I love my students' endless curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm to discover new ideas and perspectives. These book sets will not only capture their imaginations but also strengthen their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and empathy. By exploring engaging stories, my students will build deeper connections to literature and develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive both academically and personally.

My students will explore themes of community, resilience, and innovation through these powerful books.

Seedfolks will help students appreciate diversity and unity as they witness a community garden bringing people together. Mariposa Sisters will inspire empathy and courage by highlighting powerful stories of hope and perseverance. Finally, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind will encourage problem-solving and determination, as students follow a young innovator overcoming incredible challenges to help his community thrive. Each of these titles will deeply enrich our classroom discussions and empower students to grow academically and personally.

My students need these books because they provide essential windows into diverse experiences, helping them build empathy, resilience, and a sense of possibility. Many of my students lack access to engaging, relatable literature that speaks directly to their own lives and inspires meaningful conversation. By reading stories that highlight community, perseverance, innovation, and hope, my students will not only strengthen their literacy skills but also see powerful examples of how their actions can positively impact the world around them.
