Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing. They try hard and always want to reach their full potential. However, the resources in our school can be scarce. Many of my students are far below grade level and need added support and resources in order to reach grade level standards. With distance and hybrid learning this becomes even more challenging.
My classroom is diverse.
As an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) class, we have students of varying ability levels who require diverse instruction and varied materials to meet their individual needs. Teachers are given a very limited amount of money to purchase materials for the classroom. Unfortunately, this doesn't come close to covering what our classroom really needs.
My Project
With the constant unknown looming, we have to be prepared for in person and remote learning at all times. I teach in person students, however, we have already gone remote several times this school year. In an effort to keep my students prepared and ready to work no matter where they are I have been making packets of needed materials and graphic organizers for them to a have month supply on hand at all times. This has created a need for extra ink and copy paper to keep the materials then need in their hands at all times. In addition, I have added extra disposable masks for student use in the classroom when in person.
