Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Someone once said, "If you know where you want to go, you have a better chance of getting there." I want my students to learn the joy of getting where they want to go by being organized.
I teach in a small, cramped classroom.
The school where I teach is high poverty and the students have few role models at home encouraging them to be organized. They come to school so ready to experience new things and really get discouraged when they cannot find materials and supplies for an activity.
My Project
So, imagine how delighted they would be when they walk into the classroom, ready for a new day. They go to the board at the front of the room and pick their assignment up from the magnetic paper pockets. Right next to the paper pockets are the magnetic shelves, displaying a variety of interesting books that will be used to complete the assignment. Finally, they move on to the magnetic bins where they can easily access the necessary tools and supplies to complete the task. The organization of materials and supplies has helped them be responsible in "getting where they want to go". Now using the adhesive tape they can proudly display their finished product.
I want to help my children develop skills that will serve them throughout their school years and on into their career fields.
Learning to become more organized will help them become more responsible as well. Organization and responsibility lead to self-contentment.
