My Students

I am a teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school.

The students at our school embrace technology.

In my classroom, you will see students enjoying technology tools at any given time of the day.

We are a tight community that works together. Our parental support is so amazing! Our local school has about 550 students. Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I love working with my adorable 1st-grade students. We would appreciate any help at all with receiving more technology based resources.

My Project

A popular story with children is "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie", by Laura Numeroff. In a parallel journey, my class could easily take you on an adventure that would explain what would happen If you gave a class a charging station.

I love the quote by Diana Oblinger that states, "there are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom.

The ultimate objective is to find the right path for students to maximize learning." As a teacher, that is my goal! In keeping with the book theme from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, a variation title I would use for donors would be, “If you gave a class a iPads and laptops”, we could also use a docking station. We don't have any room for storage or charging spots in our classroom. A docking station would be a space that would house all our laptops and iPads in one compact space. It would give the students independence in handling each device. Students would be able to retrieve and put away each iPad or laptop on their own. We would no longer go for a device and realize the batteries are dead. It would also keep all the wires neat, organized, and unseen. (Safer for the students)

With multiple iPads and laptops, I would use it to help keep my students’ technology resources charged at all times.

The objective is to find the right path for students to enhance learning." I agree with that. "If you give a class an iPad and laptop charging station," you could offer my students a better route of keeping the items charging all at once in one place daily.
