My Students
My students are just happy to be back at school. When we were talking about the pandemic, the hardest part for most of them was not seeing their friends at school (they even missed their teachers!). We have more kids coming back on campus and new kids joining our virtual classrooms. We are far from being “normal” but I’m hopeful we are heading in that direction. When I took this position, one of my goals was to introduce beach volleyball and provide an after school program for the kids. I’ve lead our running club for the last 7 years and I would love to offer an after school volleyball program for the students.
We need sports more than ever this year.
The kids have been limited on what they can do and many have had their recreational sports canceled.
My Project
By providing outdoor quality nets, our students will have the opportunity to learn a FHSAA and collegiate recognized sport. I was introduced to volleyball in the 6th grade. It paid my way through college and after that I played competitively on the beach. Volleyball is growing in popularity and scholarships are given for both girls and boys. I would LOVE to share my knowledge of the game with my students. I have so many kids begging for me to get this completed before they leave the 6th grade! The nets would be a big piece to completing this project. We have the space lined up and this would put the project in motion.
