My Students

Our students are curious third through eighth graders. As a teacher at a Title I school, I look forward to providing opportunities they may not have elsewhere. It's been such fun to see them question, test, and try as they explore their academics. We need these project materials to implement engineering concepts in our classrooms!

My students come from various backgrounds and include economically disadvantaged populations.

I want to give them as many chances as possible while in my classroom!

My Project

This project is designed to purchase foundational materials we can use to study engineering in our classrooms. Students will plan for structures they want to build and use their plans to develop a 3-D model using the LEGO bricks purchased. This is something that can be completed multiple times in our year, with different focuses for problem solving and exploration.

Students need to know just because they are in school, doesn't mean they aren't scientists and engineers already!

We will use the Playdoh to build as well. We also want to incorporate the Playdoh with Makey Makey circuit systems to allow for computer gaming/music creation with Playdoh!
