If You Build a Library, Middle School Students Will Read!

My Project

My students have a passion for reading. The school's current library space is being reallocated to another need our building currently has. I spent all summer collecting as many books as I could to build as big of a library inside my own classroom. My students can't get enough books, as the book titles (especially the newer novels) are FLYING off my shelves!

These books will make a huge impact on these students because they are building our lower-level readers' confidence in themselves as readers and helping instill a possible lifelong passion.

I want to see the excitement in their eyes when they are able to choose to read a book that interests them and give them the empowerment to keep forging ahead. I may only teach 6th grade but I have former students coming to check out books from my library as well as many future students that have heard from their older siblings will pop their heads into my classroom to see if they can check some out too!

Students will be able to check out books from my library to read in their free time and when they finish their work early. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunity to read.
