This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a world where teachers like me have to compete with technology and short attention spans, my goal is to find more engaging ways for my students who come from low-income households to fall in love with reading actual books while building their stamina.
What better way than to create a space where my students can dive into books in any cozy spot in the classroom with fun chairs they can curl up in, as they turn each page using fun reading trackers and finger pointers.
The mini flashlights will definitely create excitement on our Flashlight Fridays, as I envision turning off the lights, turning on calming music with a campfire projected onto the whiteboard. My goal is to always create experiences that will in turn, create core memories and make reading lots of fun!
