Help me give my students the opportunity to read award-winning literature in our library while creating structures in a brand-new Makerspace area. The Lego sets will keep learning stimulating and help students make connections to the stories read.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The little minds on my campus never seize to amaze me! Whether it's their ability to create, vocalize, advocate, or plan, great things happen for our student body because of them. My students inspire me to step my game up in the library and facilitate their learning the best way possible. I know that they require the most innovative opportunities to engage in literacy, and furthermore love every minute that they can use their own talents to do so.
Nurturing my student's creativity enhances the value in their learning.
It keeps their interest and ensures that they take intellectual risks in and outside of the classroom.
My Project
Through the use of both captivating literature and Lego blocks, I will create an enticing library Makerspace of learning for the students at HE. Students will foster imagination and creativity by creating something all their own, with no pressure.
Through this Makerspace, students will be able to practice not only STEM activities, but integrate reading and writing into their creations.
With the numerous hands-on opportunities offered through this project, pencil and paper won't be the only way to enhance writing and language arts skills. Students can display their work in a unique way, enthusiastically sharing out with each other.
