Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latinos at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.
My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school, and they enjoy learning!
I teach 3rd-4th grade Special Education. My students have various disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD, other health impairment, and learning disabilities.
My Project
My students need their own individual IEP bins. The ones I currently have are falling apart, and I don't have enough for all of my students. They need a place to keep all of their IEP materials that they need to work on (flash cards, manipulatives, etc.).
My students have individualized IEPs, therefore, they should have individualized bins!
We will use these bins to store their leveled books. We will also store their individualized work which aligns to their IEP goals and performance levels. Using these bins will allow myself and my students to keep their materials organized and in the same spot. They will enjoy the bright colors of these bins as well!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
