Help me give my students materials to race to the Iditarod in Alaska!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Kunkel's classroom raised $239
This project is fully funded
My Project
This Iditarod study will be enhanced by our STEM challenges as we study the race. The students will learn about the route, training, and bond between the mushers and their team of dogs.
My hope is students will not only get to do STEM challenges while learning about the race, but they will also have a culminating project in which they will meet a real sled dog!
Students will learn about the brave sled dogs and their owners who were willing to take risks. The books and materials found in Tpt resources will engage students as they read, research, and explore the Iditarod race. The hands-on challenges will give students numerous opportunities to collaborate and problem-solve in groups. Within this unit, students will also choose a musher and team of dogs to follow along during the race. This will be a super fun and engaging unit for students.
