My Project
Our students love learning in new and exciting ways. With hands-on projects, they can dive deeper into topics and truly experience what they’re learning. This project focuses on the legendary Iditarod Race in Alaska—but it’s more than just a race. Students will explore Alaska’s terrain, learn about the historic 1925 diphtheria serum run, adopt and care for their own sled dogs, and tackle creative STEM challenges, such as building sleds and designing doghouses. They’ll also journal daily about their chosen musher, track live race results, and reflect on the powerful themes of perseverance, teamwork, and compassion.
