Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
To begin the school year, I want my students to create silhouettes to represent how they see themselves compared to how others see them. It will be one of the first creative projects we do as a class. The project will serve as a way to get to know one another and build community.
My hope is that my students will be able to make connections to one another and will be able to see how sometimes people make assumptions about us that simply are not true.
I hope that this project will help open up some deep discussions about identity and belonging.
