This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students range from 11 to 16 years old and who are identified as students with an emotional disturbance or Autistics. The use of technology in the class will allow students to experience engaging ways to learn different social e motional strategies and view scenarios about individuals who suffer or go through different social emotional traumas and are able to overcome and connect with them on a personal level.
Students leave our school with a strong understanding of their place in the world and the ability to make their lives better.
My Project
The use of technology in the social skills classroom will allow for interactive yoga and mindfulness strategies to help the students control their emotional states throughout the school day. The use of research and studies in the feel of social emotional and brain traumas documentaries allows the students to have hands on research. With these resources, students will be able to research and connect to different behavioral documentaries.
Donations to this project will provide students with a unique opportunity to combine Science and Technology with the Social emotional intervention by using their tablets.
Students will be able to learn valuable interventions and analysis skills, as well as learn to work with new and evolving technology. With these skills and experiences, students will have a much deeper and personal understanding of the causes of emotional distress, traumas, and the importance of overcoming their emotional distress in their lives, as well as leaving my class with bankable tech skills.
