Not being able to communicate is so frustrating to many of my autistic students. This will provide them with a voice.
My students are special needs students.
I provide speech therapy services to students with autism, and students who are cognitively impaired and learning disabled. My students really respond to using technology for learning and with the apps that are available for our special needs population, having an iPad for the classroom will be incredible.
My Project
My students will be able to utilize special education apps and speech and language learning apps. Moreover, communication training can happen with this classroom iPad. Often times, we may service a small group of children and each child having his/her own access to an iPad would be helpful for our speech classroom.
My project will make a difference because it will provide my students with access to a variety of communication, speech, and language learning applications.
My students will be able to independently learn how to communicate and will be offered technology to make learning fun and enjoyable.
