My Project

Students are always needing new ways to help them regulate their bodies and manage big emotions. When a child is escalated, resetting their nervous system or the vagus nerve, can have very calming effects. You can do this by giving them something minty or very cold along with chewing.

Ice meets two criteria for resetting a student’s nervous system and is an easy classroom resource.

This project contains an ice machine that produces small, soft ice that is perfect for chewing. The pieces are small enough that the choking hazard is reduced and soft enough that teeth will not be damaged.
