My Students

You have a 1 in 6 chance of being a victim of a crime in our school's neighborhood. Crime is 136% higher than the national average and students come to our school every day carrying the trauma around them.

We need to provide our students with the resources needed to break this cycle.

Our goal is to provide our students with an environment that will foster a love of learning and improve our community. Help us bring our kids the resources they need to accomplish that.

My Project

We need an ice machine for our school so that we can tend to student injuries in a efficient manner.

Students on field trips need cold food and sometimes we students are injured and ice packs are an expensive luxury that we do not have the funding for.

An ice maker will allow our students access to ice for multiple projects as well as for treating injuries.

On field trips we are required to keep food at a safe temperature. An ice machine will provide us with an affordable way to care for our students.

Currently we use ice cube trays which are ineffective in producing the ice needed when students have medical needs.

In Science we study the effects of preservation of foods; cold weather animals; cause and effect and environmental issues. Having the ice machine will allow us to do the Blubber project in grade K where students can test the insulation of a whale from the elements. In older grades we can test the best way to melt ice or keep ice cold. Creating a hypothesis, researching and then testing the hypothesis will be aided with the correct materials.
