This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Math Lab teacher that moves from classroom to classroom with a little red cart that contains all of my Math supplies. I teach 4-5 classes a day, ranging from Kindergarten to Third grade. Each classroom has between 24-31 students each. More than half of my students are Bilingual and El's.

I am a Math Lab teacher for about 630 students from Kindergarten to Third grade.

I work with these students weekly. The students I service are EL and about 95% come from low income households. The students I have are young, highly motivated and enthusiastic about learning.

My Project

The four iPads that I am asking for will help my students greatly. Math games and activities will be added to these Ipads to help my students' Math skills. The various apps will help my students become proficient in counting, writing their numbers, adding, subtracting, creating equations, measuring and so much more. The iPads and the apps added create visual stimulation and interest. The apps have an audio component that allows the student to hear and see the tasks they are performing. The students will be actively engaged and even more enthused about math. Students will also be able to identify their mistakes and self correct.

The generous donations will improve my instruction and the students' knowledge.

The students I have will be engaged by playing games and interacting with activities, while gaining mathematical skills in the process. Students will also become tech savvy at a younger age which will enhance other skills for the future.
