it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello everyone! It has been such a fun opportunity so far to work at RHS as one of their ceramic teachers. My class is a semester long so I am lucky enough to have ample time to really get to know each of my students. It has been blowing my mind just how driven these students are to learn, create and express themselves with clay.
Unfortunately, our school’s yearly budget did not factor in the price of purchasing new pottery wheels for a new ceramic room.
This means that all of my students will not have the chance to throw on the pottery wheel this year.
That is incredibly unfortunate! Throwing on the pottery wheel is such a fun and important part of learning how to create with clay. For many students, having the opportunity to throw on the wheel was their reason for signing up for this class in the first place!
I want to give my students the ceramic experience they want and deserve. This is why I am reaching out to my loving support network to ask for help. I know that this is a large ask, but I'm confident that having these wheels as an available tool will grow my students’ love for ceramics tenfold.
