This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I really want to make learning English accessible to my first graders. I teach all non-English speaking students that represent 3 different languages as well as 3 different countries. My students range from pre-emergent to low intermediate in English.
Many of my students don't try to speak until they can be perfect. They are very worried about getting it right.
I think that puppets will allow my students to practice speaking in English without full attention on themselves.
You will make it possible for my students to build confidence and fluency in speaking English.
