My Project

Students on the spectrum require explicit instruction in all areas. This means we are breaking it down, specifically working on LEARNER READINESS (sitting down, paying attention to the teacher), EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL REGULATION (self regulating your emotions and body to be ready to learn), CLASSROOM ROUTINES (hanging up your jacket, unpacking your bag), COMMUNICATION of wants and needs with various forms of communication (speaking, using pictures, gestures, or a speech generating communication device), and PLAY. Our children are learning how to play with a variety of toys, and learning language simultaneously. With your assistance in providing sensory experiences, edible reinforcers like, and pretend play toys we need to for our classroom, our students will continue to gain the concepts they need to connect with others through a sensory rich, motivating learning environment!
