My students need headphones and a digital recorder so everything they say can be heard.

My Students
Ever try to write down everything a child says while working in a classroom with 17 other active students? It's impossible!
The 18 energetic four and five year old children in my class love to create and learn.
We are in a Title One school which includes over 1,000 students from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. The school is in a high poverty area and about 85% of the students in the school receive free school lunch. Buying new resources to help improve our classroom is low on the school's priority list.
My Project
This year with the implementation of the Common Core Standards and the Danielson rubric even Pre-Kindergarten is being forced to subject to rigorous assessments. Since most three and four year olds can't write they are being assessed on what they say. I will use the digital recorder to ensure I give them credit for everything they say.
The headphones will be used with our classroom iPads to help quiet the room down during assessments so the students I am working with don't get distracted by the electronics noise.
These tools will make it possible for me to assess my students in a way that ensures they get credit for all that know.
Writing down everything a child says right away or remembering to write down later is impossible. And every child has a right to be assessed when there are as little distractions as possible.
