Help me give my students Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards for access to differentiated resources such as readings, worksheets and various materials they need in order to succeed in their Social Studies class!
My goal is to create an environment where all students can strive during unfamiliar times!
It has been a very difficult process for my students and their families during remote learning.
Finding resources that can help students who struggle with reading and comprehension has been a daunting task. I teach special education students and ENL (English as a New Language) students that require extra resources and tools to assist in the learning process.
My school is a Title I school, with approximately 90% of our students eligible for free lunch. I teach Social Studies to five 8th grade classes, 160 students in total. I have a broad range of students that I teach: an honors class who are among the brightest in the grade as well as eager and motivated special education students who struggle without the proper assistance. I do not know what September holds for us in regards to in-person or remote teaching but I want to make sure I have access to the proper resources regardless of the situation. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
Teaching history can change the way students view the world!
By having access to various resources in my classroom, I will be able to engage and teach students that history is an important part of their education.
Having a wide variety of materials is a way to show my students how relevant their Social Studies curriculum is to their daily life, and it is a way to engage and help my students understand the content better. Since many students have different reading levels I must have a variety of texts at my disposal in order to meet the students' abilities.
Resources obtained with these gift cards will allow my students to read and analyze texts, political cartoons, maps, document based questions and timelines. They will change my students' lives for the better because they will enrich their educational experience in my classroom and allow me to be the best teacher for my students that I can be.
