This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars are the most kind, thoughtful and sweet tiny humans you'll ever meet. They have grown up in difficult situations and still they thrive. They still show up with a big smile on their face and willing to contribute to our school community. They listen intently to their peers, build on the ideas of their peers, disagree respectably, and share their own ideas. They are risk-takers, openhearted, mindful learners.

My Project

During distance learning, a lot of my students have started to lose hope for their future and only see negative stories on the news. I want to provide them with inspirational stories. Stories of women excelling in engineering, stories of accepting those that are different than us and remind them that their is hope for the future.

I want to spark the fuse that makes them dream big!

I want them to remember that this too shall pass and that their dreams matter. Many have paved the way for them to succeed and they will achieve anything they want. During this time, hope, love, and acceptance is all I want to teach them.

I also need two monitors so that I can see all my students when we are zooming. I want them to know that I see them and want to be able to lead discussions where I can see all of their faces on the screen at one time.
