My students come from diverse backgrounds. Their families are immigrants and most speak at least two languages. They all have rich and deep personal stories that revolve around love for family, culture, and food. They work hard in school and education is an important family value. They love being at school everyday to socialize with friends and discussion about stories and texts they are reading are a highlight for them.
Many of my students are first generation Americans.
Ensuring that we have everything they need to be successful is something we strive for each day. They thrive on interaction between themselves and teachers. They like quick, personalized feedback to support their learning.
My Project
Distance learning has been difficult for my students. One screen allows a teacher to either control and cast the lesson OR see all of the students in a grid format. Seeing all of my students on one monitor with the lesson casting on another will allow me to see them working in real time so I can give them quick feedback on their learning! Distance learning continues for my students and a second monitor will be a game changer in supporting their learning. I will be able to help them face to face on one screen while seeing their work and the posted lesson on another.
