My Students
Have you ever not understood the process of solving a math problem or writing? My students often struggle with processing information and need the opportunity to visually see the process multiple times.
My students are high school students in grades 9-12 that have various disabilities.
Many of the students in my class have learning disabilities in either reading, writing, or math. They come from families where their parent or parents probably didn't attend college and have to work more than one job to provide for their family. My students work hard to overcome their disabilities and family situation to learn. My students are dedicated to figuring out how they learn best so that they can attend college and be successful.
My Project
By having a document camera in the classroom, students will be able to showcase the process of their understanding and support the learning of their classmates. As their teacher, I will be able to show student work and further support student learning. I will also be able to reach more students by increasing the ways I present information to them. Using a document camera will make the learning in high school more similar to what it will be like in college with access to greater technology. This will allow my students to be more adequately prepared to attend college and increase their chances for success.
Having a document camera in the classroom will help develop the students ability to figure out how they learn best while also preparing them for their future.
The students will be able to see examples from their classmates and showcase their own learning.
