My Project

Building a foundation for a love of reading is at the forefront of what I do as an elementary librarian. What better way to promote this love is for students to see themselves in the books that line the shelves. As our school boundaries have shifted, we have become an amazing school of diverse students.

Being a Title 1, low income school, I want to get books into the hands of my students.

Some of my kids have shared they don't have any books at home. I want to make sure our school library has current titles celebrating different cultures, neurodivergence, and child-like fun.

I love my students and want them to feel "home" when they come to the library. I want them to feel comfort and care. When they can see a library filled with connections, they will learn to love reading and the library.
