My Students

We live in a small, rural community. In spite of that, we are extremely lucky to have a diverse population. Our classroom is 70% children of color, so we are lucky to have a variety of experiences and history among us.

With our diverse student community, comes an ever changing and sometimes complex set of learning challenges.

These are great kids, some of them overcoming huge obstacles just to get to school each day. They want to learn and grow!

My Project

How do you best learn/work? I'm pretty sure, for most of you, it's not sitting in a chair, at a desk or table. Most of us do our best work on the couch or other comfortable place.

Best learning happens when we are comfortable and relaxed.

For some students, that might mean a chair at a table or desk. But for many more students, best learning for them happens when they are laying across a pillow, bean bag or on a carpet square. The soft rocker gives students a comfortable spot to work and the rocking motion is soothing. Students who fidget will choose the wobble chair because it allows for movement. The camping chair offers yet another comfortable option. These options will give student more choices, more chances of finding the BEST learning environment for them!
