Help me give my students a new classroom projector so learning can be enhanced during each lesson. Pictures can become real life and students are able to grasp concepts quicker with visually stimulating graphics.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to be hands-on, but when there aren't enough materials or equipment it is frustrating to them. "Music gives wings to the mind and flight to the imagination" but without enough materials, technology or resources their mind can't take flight and reach new destinations.
They come from an area of the city that is known as being the roughest and the students deal with too many adult problems outside of school.
My school works towards allowing the students to be kids and strives towards helping them to reach their potential and beyond in any way we can. All students are on free breakfast and free lunch and when they are able to become hands on in the classrooms, their hunger for learning becomes greater than their hunger for food.
My Project
After 6 years, our classroom projector took a turn for the worse. Then, it finally went on to its retirement home somewhere in projector land. This was a sad day in the music room! We are now in desperate need of a new classroom overhead mounted projector!
Through obtaining a brand new projector in my classroom, students will be able to participate in interactive music activities, have a large visual representation of their music or view music education videos in order to enhance their learning experience.
Utilizing the eno board with the projector is vital in my classroom- students need to see their music on the board so explanations are clearer, they can participate in online interactive music games and explore music history in a more desirable and visual way than with paper and pencil.
Our eno board is useless without an overhead projector and classroom learning is more compromised- especially for those students who are visual learners!
