I Pledge Allegiance to the Tattered Flag

My proposal needs five flags to replace the tattered ones presently in the 4th, 5th and 6th grade classrooms.

Set in an urban community, our school is named after Francis Bellamy. Ring a bell? He is the writer of the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG. Over 100 years ago, his purpose was to promote pride in our country.

Daily, our students recite the PLEDGE during morning announcements...to tattered and worn flags hanging in the classroom corners. Each flag is on its last legs (or should I say its last threads).

This proposal would provide a new flag for the five intermediate classrooms upstairs in our building. It's a chance for us to show our affirmation that we are proud of the USA.

Please take this project under consideration. Your generosity would make it possible for our students to exhibit confidence, dignity and pride during our solemn promise to America.
