I-Pads For Data Driven Instruction

My students need an I-pad and accessories to use in the classroom and the field during my science class.

My Students

Imagine waking up with no running water or electricity and riding the bus for an hour one way to get to school. My students live this life everyday.

These students are hard working individuals who are standing up to change their community.

They are the next generation of Native American students who are working hard to achieve a western education, while holding on to their roots. We are a public school that is currently failing in academic improvement. Thank you for helping our students close the achievement gap.

My Project

Having iPad's in our classroom will allow the students a chance to interact with technology. It will also allow me, as a teacher, to collect data at the end of the day and to determine if the students understood that day's lesson. These students are far behind and in order to achieve their goals, I must be able to assess their progress and adjust my teaching on a daily basis.

We will use this project in combination with a program called Exit Ticket, to close the gap in student achievement on the Navajo Nation.
