My students need lots of visuals. They are learning a second language. The more I expose them to pictures, videos and listening materials the better chances they will have to learn English. We need a projector.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 18 wonderful Spanish first grade students. These students are bright, intelligent and friendly! They love to learn and strive for the best. We have an amazing community in our classroom in which everyone loves and helps each other. Our classroom consists of 11 girls and 7 boys. We also have students with special needs. In our classroom, we do lots of activities in which visuals are extremely needed.
The fact of the Day: Learning a second language not only has cognitive and academic benefits, it also supports a greater sense of openness to and appreciation for other cultures.(Tochon,2009)
Our classroom is small and limited, therefore, we are in need of a projector. Because mostly our first graders are learning English, it is important to have visuals. Lots of them! We would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you!
My Project
I remember as a child, how much I wanted to learn English. I wanted to sing the songs on the radio, talk like my friends but, I couldn't. I can understand how my students feel and I understand their frustrations. With this project, the students will have the opportunity to be exposed to visuals from printable media, videos, and pictures. They will be able to interact with the smartboard activities as well as with the wireless keyboard we already own.
Therefore, we need this projector to make learning easier and to help students with more exposure to what they don't understand and know.
