My Students
My kindergarten students are curious, energetic 5 and 6-year-olds. Their excitement to be attending elementary school for the first time is contagious. From their first to last day, they soak up so much learning that their academic and social growth is amazing to experience.
Our school is located in a small rural town with a close-knit community that supports our school's vision of "Creating a Community of Learners and Leaders".
Visitors to our school immediately feel the support that each member of our staff and community gives to our students.
My Project
My request is to fund a one-day professional development conference that will sharpen and elevate my teaching skills. The conference speaker is an expert in four areas that are vital in today's kindergarten classroom--morning meetings, learning centers, hands-on science lessons, and classroom management.
This conference is designed to collaborate, learn, and grow with other educators while interacting with the guest speaker, Greg Smedley-Warren.
I am most excited to learn first-hand about how Greg teaches his "Mad Science" lessons. My kindergarten students love learning about the world around them. I would like to incorporate tips from Greg that will enhance my students learning.
