Help me give my students more teaching time. I have an 11 year old microphone that only holds a charge for about an hour. New batteries don’t help. I have to change batteries 3 x a day.
My students attend our Title I school. They are vibrant and curious students who are a diverse group of students in many ways.
The community is rich with culture, community, even though many families struggle.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be an educator with this school and community. By providing the support they need to retain their math skills will help them into the next year. This group of students is fun to work with. They play hard when allowed and work hard when asked.
My Project
My students are spread out throughout the room due to COVID. I have an 11 year old microphone that only holds a charge for no more than 2 hours. I have tried new rechargeable batteries and they don’t help prolong the charge. That means I have to stop at least 3 times a day and switch batteries in my microphone. This does not always give the batteries enough time to recharge fully.
Without the microphone, I need to speak loudly, which leaves me hoarse or with a sore throat at the end of the day.
If I don’t use the microphone or speak loudly, my students can’t follow my instruction. This of course means students are learning in an optimal environment.
