This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year my class consists of kindergarten and 1st grade special needs students in a Title I school on the Lower East Side. All of my students have different levels of disabilities that need to be taught using differentiated teaching.
All of my wonderful students have the desire to learn, just like their general education peers.
They try hard on a daily basis and want to do well educationally, emotionally and behaviorally. They celebrate their successes and know when they need extra support to help meet their needs.
My Project
My students need a lot of practice with letter formation and problem solving in math. Using dry erase markers are a frustration free way to make mistakes and try again. The dry erase markers also help students with writing delays. Its makes them confident because they just need to wipe the board clean. We tried pencils and erasers, however, that led to many holes in their papers. After trying many different strategies, dry erase markers are the way to go!
Having a frustration free writing tool to use to practice leads to happy students and a happier teacher.
Help us stay happy and become better writers and mathematicians.
