This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Did you know some schools still have chalkboards in the classrooms? I have one in my Kindergarten class and there is always dust everywhere.
My school is located in a high poverty area of Los Angeles.
Our population consists of 987 students where 93.7% consists of English Language Learners and 100% are socio-economically disadvantaged.
I teach a kindergarten class. Students are having their first experiences in a school setting. Besides all the academic rigor these sweet 4-5 year old have to endure, they also have to deal with allergens coming from the use of chalk.
My Project
All I am asking is for a Magnetic Dry Erase Board, so my students are able to enjoy learning and sitting on the rug without having to worry about getting their heads, and their clothes dirty with chalk powder. I love to play with chalk outdoors, but when all the doors in a classroom are closed, chalk can get a little too messy, and may make my students too sneezy.
Your contributions can make a powerful impact in the lives of these little ones who are wanting to begin the school year in a beautiful classroom.
Help us improve our learning and teaching experiences with the use of this magnetic tool.
