My Students
Our students at HHS range in age from 3-5 years old. HHS provides services to low-income families in the community and provides a range of learning activities in several different domains. I love the fact that they are always excited about learning and trying new things. The smiles on their faces when they accomplish something that they have been working hard on just melt my heart.
My Project
Providing these books to the families is giving them a resource and a way to work on making emotional connections using the " I Love You" rituals. These rituals help with impulse control, spur a desire for positive behavior and help to increase attention span. Our program uses the Conscious Discipline Program, and staff does the " I Love You" Rituals on a daily basis with the children. By providing parents with the resource, they will be able to create these connections and things will be similar from school to home.
