Desperately needed: Hands-on Science supplies for new Middle School Science classroom.
I am stepping into a new 5th & 6th grade Science program in a small, poor country school. The science had previously been taught in self-contained classrooms.
There are no science supplies for this classroom, and the school has extremely limited funds for supplies. The school will be able to order safety equipment (fire blanket, goggles, etc.) but no hands-on type kits or supplies. I have lots of ideas for hands-on experiments, many of which use common, at-home items, but we could really use additional materials for these science classes.
I would love to have some science kits, especially related to the science topics that the kids have difficulty with - physical science and earth science. I want to instill an awe and a love for science. I want these students to understand the role science plays in their lives everyday. These materials will help me with my mission for my students: to educate them so that they are ready to run the world when it's their turn!
